Package!

We got a package from Emmy and Emma's Mommy yesterday - a homemade sweater, squeaky toy, delicious treats, and a neck bandana! Elmo hasn't been this excited for a long time, and he's even running around, playing with the toy!!!! Thank you so much for all of these things, it's the best present Elmo's ever gotten. We've taken lots of pictures! Oh, and we put the bandana around his head for the pictures because we didn't want it to clash with the sweater! Haha.

1. I hide things under the bed sometimes, and when my family looks for it, I don't say a thing.
2. I sometimes sneak upstairs to the storage rooms, and pees on the carpet, since no one goes in there often enough to find out.
3. I don't get along with most dogs.
4. I forget people that I don't see for about a month.
5. I actually don't like vegetables, but they give it to me and I like eating in general.
6. The orange stain on the bedsheets and the carpet from me throwing up is still there, and probably will stay there forever.
7. I really have eaten homework. Or ripped it apart. Same difference really.
8. Human food > dog food
9. I tap on the waterbowls even if the bowl is full just so I can make them stand up.
10. I hate putting things on my head.

We're not dead

Hi everyone.
Thanks to everyone who clicked on the linkies in the last post and especially to those who voted! :)
Just posting to say we're not dead, it's just that our camera is broken and we have been very bored with no new pictures (we're posting up really old pictures this post).
And also, second semester in school life is pretty hectic and I feel like my gpa is falling. Concentration is very hard when you have a dog around! I decided to come by and make a new post so everyone knows that we're still here. Sorry we're not so active!

These are pictures of when Elmo got his haircut almost semi-poodle.
We've never gotten Elmo groomed outside of our own home, and I think Mama S wanted to give him a fun look that day.

Spay Day Pet Photo Contest 2009

We entered the first picture in this post in Spay Day 2009 Online Pet Photo Contest to benefit a local shelter! The one Dana volunteers at wasn't on the list, so we picked the one near us! Twitchy Elmo

The economy is crazy isn't it?
Sister Dana has been busy looking for a part-time job while going to school.
Trying to work at either the petstore or the animal hospital near home, since
volunteering at the shelter for two years will back up her experience!

Nothing special to update about Elmo's condition so far! He's been a good boy and taking his medication well, and has not cried out for a long time. To mention again, Emma and Emmy's mommy has been very helpful to us. Thank you so much!

I caught Elmo twitching in his sleep. I don't know if it's cause he felt pain or because he was dreaming about something in deep slumber. I hope it's the latter!

Elmo Photobooth?

Ever since the first day he started showing his symptoms, Elmo has been so different. His personality has changed, from lively and always hyper, to lazy and quiet. It must be a pain not to be able to run around like he used to. Last night/this morning, suddenly awake from his sleep, he threw up the food from last night, and he threw up on the bed because he was not able to jump down to the floor from the bed anymore. He always used to go down to the floor before throwing up if he was sick. Now we have an orange bedsheet.

Emmy and Emma's Mommy has been helping us so much recently, sending us a bunch of veterinary information, disc problem treatments, ideas for raising money for Elmo's MRI if he ended up needing one, and even offered to make clothes for Elmo. Thank you!

Elmo's Condition

Thanks everyone soooo much for coming by worried about Elmo, and thank you Khyra for sending so many friends and so much healing vibes! Elmo is liking his heating pad bought for him thanks to Mona's mommy's suggestion. The pain reliever that he's taking in fourths, most likely works well because after taking the pill, he is running around and being hyper. However, it worries me that he had a hard time sleeping last night. He whined trying to sleep and moved about, unable to sleep, and it scares me that he's in pain. I hope his condition does not worsen.

Quick Update

Hello everyone. Thanks for coming by even while we were not posting much.
We've been a bit worried because of Elmo's condition.
We went to the vet, and he told us that it looks like Elmo's got a disc problem (just as Mona and her mommy had told us! :O) and that he shouldn't do anything that would stress his behind out and make it worse. They gave us some medication for him to take to try to treat it. He currently cannot jump onto higher surfaces, jump down from them without yelping, run around crazy like he used to (see video some posts before), be held like a baby (one hand supporting his butt and him looking over the shouler), and lots more. We now have to pay extra attention to him, because if it gets worse, we need to take him for an MRI because they cannot see well on the x-ray, which would cost $10,000. Right now, we're not letting him play(hump) his favorite ducky, jump up or down surfaces, or try to stand up for treats. We've heard that other dogs with serious disc problems do not even eat well or walk well, and some owners even gave up their ownership. We would never give up Elmo but we do not want his condition to get worse, so we're being extra careful while it's still at the early stage. The vet also told us to feed him less because he's gained 1.2 pounds since last year. Thanks everyone for worrying. I'm posting some old pictures because we've missed you too!
